BareGPT LLC ("BareGPT", "we", "us", "our") collects only what we need to provide AI-assisted writing feedback, analysis, and coaching features. Your content remains yours, and we're transparent about how we handle your data.

Our Privacy Principles
- We never sell your data to third parties
- Your content is not used to train AI models without explicit consent
- All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest
- You can request data deletion or export at any time
What we collect
Account information
Email address, name, and authentication credentials (securely hashed) when you create an account.
Submitted content
Text you submit for analysis, feedback, and coaching through our web app or Chrome extension.
Usage data
Document count, analysis requests, and feature usage to enforce plan limits and improve service quality.
Technical data
Browser type, IP address, timestamps, and error logs for security, debugging, and service optimization.
How we use your data
Provide services
Advanced analytics & paragraph diagnostics, writing feedback, coaching insights, and reports based on submitted content.
Improve quality
Analyze usage patterns and feedback to enhance accuracy, reliability, and user experience.
Enforce limits
Track usage to enforce free tier limits and subscription plan quotas fairly.
Communicate
Send service updates, security notifications, and product announcements (you can opt out of marketing emails).
Prevent abuse
Detect and prevent fraudulent activity, spam, and violations of our terms of service.
Data retention
Submitted content: We retain your submitted text for up to 90 days to provide analysis results, support iterative revisions, and enforce usage limits. After 90 days, content is automatically deleted unless you've explicitly saved documents to your account.
Account data: We retain your account information (email, profile, subscription status) for as long as your account is active and for 1 year after account closure for legal and security purposes.
Usage logs: Technical logs and usage metrics are retained for up to 2 years for security, debugging, and service improvement.
Your rights: You can request data deletion, export, or account closure at any time by contacting support. We'll process requests within 30 days per GDPR and CCPA requirements.
Data sharing and third parties
We share data only with trusted service providers who help us operate BareGPT:
- Supabase: Authentication and database hosting
- OpenAI/Anthropic: AI analysis and coaching (your content is processed but not used for training)
- Payment processors: Stripe for subscription billing (we don't store credit card details)
We never sell your data. Third-party access is limited by strict contracts requiring GDPR and CCPA compliance.
